HYDROLIFT PROFESSIONAL WITH DELIVERY OF NEW FIRE VESSELS

Red Sea Global orders two Hydrolift P45 FireFighter models.

In recent years, Hydrolift has expanded its focus areas from high-speed leisure boats to include vessels for the professional market and electric city ferries. This initiative, forged through an extensive collaboration with The Norwegian Sea Rescue Society, has already yielded several Search and Rescue (SAR) vessels actively patrolling the Norwegian coastline.

Utilizing a modular platform, the Hydrolift yard can customize boats and vessels for professional applications, with a particular emphasis on areas such as fire protection.

Hydrolift P45 FireFighter

The groundbreaking Hydrolift P45 FireFighter, featuring a versatile modular design, empowers clients to effortlessly customize it for a wide range of missions. The hull, driveline, and architecture are based upon the field proven P42 platform, which has been in service for over seven years. Leveraging pre-engineered module systems facilitates efficient production and enables short delivery schedules, even for larger series.

All vessels are built in Fredrikstad, Norway, and delivered with customer-specific configurations.

The Assignment

The two Hydrolift P45 FireFighter models will feature state-of-the-art navigation equipment and essential accessories, including VHF, dual chart plotters, radar, and an on-board thermal imaging camera. The vessel is equipped with a wireless intercom system, integrating radio communication for all personnel.

The fire vessels are additionally outfitted with two PTO-driven water cannons boasting capacities of 10,000 and 3,000 liters per minute respectively, along with a foam tank for injection into both cannons and a sizable dry-chemical rig. To ensure stability during assignments, Dynamic Positioning (DP) technology from Kongsberg Maritime is incorporated, which also provides the water-jet propulsion.

Enhancing maneuverability, custom interceptors enable the vessel to respond swiftly to emergency calls. Furthermore, the low freeboard in the aft facilitates easier sea rescues during missions. Production started December 2023, and the first vessel is expected to be delivered during winter 2024.

“We are thrilled that Hydrolift and Eker Group have been chosen as the suppliers for this prestigious assignment! The dynamic synergy of Team Eker is poised to unveil cutting-edge fire vessels that will not only bolster fire protection but also attract attention at this exciting new destination.”
